WRP Executive Committee Meeting

WRP Meeting - Oakland, CA Sept 26th and 27th - EXCOM members suggested several changes to the proposed agenda. Concern was raised that WRP may not have sufficient time to discuss all the issues of importance. Therefore we will add an emerging issue section for the evening of September 26th.
Evolution of EXCOM - 2000 marks the 4th year of the WRP and time for the election of a new Executive Committee. Current EXCOM members were polled as to whether they would be willing to serve an additional four year term. The following are willing to serve; Mark Sytsma, Jim Athern, Randy Brown, bill Harvey and Derrick Toba. Andy and Wendy were not present so Coordinator will contact. These names will be included on the ballot with a call for new nominations to replace three currently vacant. The members will than complete nominations in the fall and new excom will serve from 2000-2004.
Response Letters. - Natl. Cattlemens and TNC's Noxious Weed Fund - EXCOM discussed proposed fund and the exclusion of aquatic vegetation from the fund.
ANSTF Meeting - Burlington Vermont August l-2, 00. EXCOM discussed who would provide Panel report at Task Force meeting. Bill Harvey has calender time available but funding is necessary. Coordinator will contact ANSTF ex. Secretary to determine if Panel funds can be used for travel for members.
Invasive Species Council - EXCOM informed of status of several Invasive Species Council Workgroups. Actions of workgroups not available on interenet. Management plan due in August 2000.

Action item: Revised agenda developed to include evening session on Caulerpa, Black Carp and l00th Meridian. Paul Gertler will provide an update on CARA and WGA activities.
Action Item: Coordinator will develop a nomination form with current excom and vacant slots for WRP.
Action Item: It was proposed that Coordinator draft letter of comments for EXCOM. EXCOM will provide comments on proposed Fund to Coordinator by July l, 2000. Coordinator will draft letter and return to EXCOM by July 5th, Final by July 8th and mailing on July ll, 2000
Injurious Wildlife proposed listing of Black Carp under Lacey Act - Coordinator tasked with drafting a comment letter for WRP. First draft to EXCOM by June 23rd, 2000. Comments from EXCOM to Coordinator by July l, 2000. 2nd draft to WRP by July 5th, 2000. Comments from WRP by July l4th and Final letter to USFWS by deadline of August l, 2000.
