1. Discussion with Kevin Anderson and Pat Lim about US/Canada Cooperation Project

WRP members Kevin Anderson and Pat Lim presented several ideas about how to use the $5,000 the WRP designated for building US/Canada cooperation for 2004. They were asked to submit a proposal that specifies deliverables. Ideas include : 1) travel to important meetings, 2) training staff at borders, 3) boating surveys of boats going to the west coast of Canada, 4) eradicating an infestation of Spartina found in US/Canada shared waters, 5) creating a rapid assessment using experts in the Puget Sound/Georgia Basin, and 6) educating local citizen groups about ANS. Kevin and Pat will work with Wendy Ralley in Manitoba to create the proposal. The EC asked Kevin and Pat to prioritize the project list and provide a budget. At the next EC conference call, the list will be discussed and a project or projects targeted for the funds.

Note: Since there was a low turnout for the call, other agenda items were informally discussed, but no action was taken.
