Wildlife/Wildlands Art Expo - Opening Reception Friday, September 13 5-8pm

On Friday, September 13, from 5 to 8 pm, the public is invited to the Opening Reception for the third of a series of Wildlife/Wildlands of Eastern North Carolina Art Expos. The auditorium at the new National Wildlife Refuges Visitor Center on Roanoke Island is the gallery. The reception and the two-month exhibit are free and open to the public. Art work will be available for sale both during the reception and for the duration of the exhibit.

Artists for the September/October Art Expo include Carolyn Schena - (Studio 12, Hatteras) Tiles, pottery, and jewelry; painters James Melvin, Ann Rubino, and June Irmischer; and wildlife photographer Mark Buckler.

Plans are now underway for the winter Wildlife/Wildlands Art Expo which will have an opening reception on November 8. Interested artists should contact Susie Kowlok at 252-473-1132 X 226 or susan_kowlok@fws.gov.

The National Wildlife Refuges Visitor Center is free and open to the public 9 - 4 Monday - Saturday and noon - 4 on Sundays. The Center is located on the north end of Roanoke Island.
