Experience a FREE Winter Wildlife Tram Tour on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge
Before the hustle and bustle of the holidays come knocking at your door, climb aboard the open-air tram at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and experience the refuge's winter wildlife. The tour will begin on Saturday, December 18 at 9:00 AM and last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Find out which critters hibernate when Old Man Winter makes his appearance. Spend time with others and see what goes on at the refuge during this more peaceful time of the year. Wear lots of warm clothing, as the temperatures are likely to be brisk. You might even want to bring along a blanket or two! You’re welcome to bring a thermos of hot, non-alcoholic beverages to keep you warm. This tour is free. Meet at the parking lot of the Creef Cut Trail on Milltail Road and Route 64 west of Manns Harbor. For information, contact Cindy Heffley at 252-475-4180. No reservations are required. Seating is on a first come-first served basis.
