Celebrate Public Lands Day Sept 25 By Volunteering on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge

The 2009 effort had record turnout for the nation’s largest annual service day on public lands. Join the team, and let's do our part to make the 2010 event even bigger! Meet other refuge volunteers at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 25. Let's see if we can break that record and improve America’s favorite outdoor places.

This is a great family activity. We encourage folks to come and work for a few hours, then take some time for a wildlife adventure with the entire family.

Marine debris is a constant problem along our fragile coast and along our highways, but with your help on National Public Land’s Day, we can work to preserve our public lands and leave the beaches and roadsides safe for the public and wildlife to enjoy.
