Mark your calendar now so you won’t have an excuse to miss this year’s Wildfest. We hope to see you Saturday, October 17 from 11:00 to 3:00.
Meet the Animals Program provided by the NC Museum of Natural Sciences will be at Wildfest 2009 during the entire day! Check out the living creatures including frogs, turtles, terrapins, crayfish, snakes and more. There will be educators present to answer questions and provide a hands-on educational experience.
Many other fun and exciting activities await you and your family. Let your child try to hit the target using a bow and arrow. Cast a fishing line and try to catch a prize. Find out why some fires are good and necessary. Meet your local conservation representatives. Learn about bears, alligators, red wolves, and many other critters that call North Carolina home. Try a new craft or get your face painted. Have your picture taken with the various animal mascots. Plus, for the second year, the Wildlife Olympics will offer children an opportunity to act like an animal!!
If you work up an appetite, local non-profits will be there to sell you a food and drinks.
If your scout or other youth group is interested in lending a hand during the day to help set up, assist at a booth, and/or take down, please contact Abbey Reibel at 252-987-1118 or email@example.com. If your organization is interested in providing an activity and information to children during Wildfest, please contact Cindy Heffley at 252-987-1118 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
