Roadside Cleanup Planned for April 26 on Pea Island Refuge
When the fish start biting, people start arriving, and the tackle starts flying. The fishing hot spot by Bonner Bridge on Pea Island National Wildlife is a popular destination for anglers of all ages, shapes, sizes, and places of origin. Of course, with large volumes of users, collecting all the debris left behind can be a daunting task for refuge staff and volunteers in order to keep the area safe and clean for all recreational enthusiasts to enjoy. The crew pictured above helped with the roadside clean-up on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge several weeks ago. Be a part of the solution! Look for the flashing yellow lights at the parking lot on the north end of Pea Island (just as you get off the Bonner Bridge) on Sunday, April 26th at 1:30 p.m. for a roadside litter pick up. For details on this clean up or other volunteer opportunities contact Abbey Reibel at 252-987-1118, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
