Mary Beth Bowman,Youth Volunteer Coordinator at the Knoxville Zoo, complimented Austin Merical,a youth volunteer at the zoo, for his initiative in creating a new visitor experience. He set up his own Education Station in front of the Red Wolf exhibit and uses biofacts, an information card he designed himself, and a laptop computer set up with Wolf Quest, the computer game created by the Minnesota Zoo. Austin is a high school student hoping to pursue a career involving red wolf conservation and public education. The Red Wolf Recovery Program, USFWS, recognizes Knoxville Zoo as one of 42 official captive sites for red wolf conservation.
