Public Invited to Organizational Meeting of Friends of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge on April 5

The first meeting of the Friends of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5th, at Refuge Headquarters in Columbia (behind the Walter B. Jones Visitors Center). The public is invited to attend. Refuge Manager Howard Phillips will be present to explain the role of the refuge and the friends group. Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge is managed to provide habitat for hundreds of species of wildlife, including the Greater Snow Goose, shown above.
