Pea Island Visitor Center Plans Wildlife Viewing Area

As a partnership project between the Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center will be adding a wildlife viewing area to the exhibits section of the facility. The viewing area will be a large bay window, approximately 8' X 20' on the west side of the existing building. Contractors, businesses, or individuals interested in submitting bids to complete the project should contact Bonnie Strawser at 252-473-1131 ext 230 or bonnie_strawser@fws.gov for more information. A meeting to review the plans for the project and answer questions from prospective bidders will be held at the Pea Island Visitor Center, approximately 6 miles south of Oregon Inlet on Thursday, May 8 ay 2:00 pm. Bid packets will be available at the meeting on May 8 or from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service Manteo Office or via email after that date. The deadline for bids is May 16.
