Fishing on the catwalks of the Bonner Bridge is a popular Outer Banks pastime. The banks adjacent to the bridge are among the one most heavily used areas on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately, this is also the most abused area. Pea Island Volunteers and staff spend countless hours picking up trash at this site, but it's a constant battle. Please join us for lunch and a couple of hours of trash pick-up on February 26! Be a part of the solution!
Volunteers are invited to join staff and interns at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge on Monday, February 26 at noon for lunch and a clean-up of the north end of the refuge. Volunteer Coordinator Abbey Reibel plans lunch at noon and the pick-up immediately after- probably around 1:30. "If you'll come help us clean up all the trash in this area, we'll certainly feed you!" she added. Participants who just plan to come to work do not need to call ahead; however, persons coming for lunch are asked to call ahead to 252-987-1118.
Come out and help enhance the natural beauty of our coastal areas. For more information or to RSVP for lunch, please call Volunteer Coordinator Abbey Reibel at 252-987-1118 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
