October 21 Wildfest to Feature Fauth Family Singers, JB's Rattles, and Wildlife Activities Galore!
Plan now to attend the 2006 Wildfest on October 21 in the front yard of the former Manteo Middle School (across from Chesley Mall). Activities will run from 10 am until 3 pm. Highlights of this year's Wildfest include entertainment by the Fauth Family, reptile programs by JB's Rattles, and a wide diversity of wildlife exhibits and activities designs for all ages. This is a family event you won't want to miss!
Exhibits and activities include sea turtles, fire management, red wolves, critter calls, face painting, "build a bird feeder", black bears, sea coast life, bird beaks and bills, and many more. There will be special music through the day, two programs presented by JB's Rattles, and hands-on with some of the local Outer Banks snakes!
Wildfest is a kick-off of the annual Wings Over Water Festival scheduled for November 7-12 and is sponsored by the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, the Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Carolina Bird Club, and the National Park Service.
