Wildland Fire Program Technician Internship This position is geared towards persons seeking experience in the field of wildland fire management. Candidates must be at least a junior in college (college graduates and graduate students also accepted) pursuing or having completed a degree in forestry, natural resource management, biology, forest/fire ecology, or a related field. The selectee will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, indoors and outdoors. Duties will include: assisting with fire management planning; fire effects monitoring; monitoring and evaluating fuel and ground moisture conditions; vegetation monitoring and sampling; assisting with Wildland Urban Interface planning efforts; monitoring prescribed burns and wildfires; and weather data collection. Will be allowed to participate with prescribed burns and wildfires if a current red card holder. To apply, send a resume and describe your background/experience related to the items below.
