Field Biologist Internship

Wanted: 6 month field biologist interns at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Two 6-month positions are filled each year.
  • Housing and a $100 per week food stipend will be provided by the Refuge.

We are currently accepting applications to work as a field biologist intern at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. Candidates must be at least a junior in college (college graduates and grad students also accepted!) and be able to work both independently and as a team player. Duties will include black bear research, waterfowl and wildlife identification and surveys, assisting with water level management, data input, habitat type mapping, and some general maintenance.

One or more days per week general refuge work may be assigned, including staffing the Visitor Center, conducting interpretive programs, mowing, emptying trash cans, recycling, or distributing brochures. Attitude and willingness to help in whatever way is needed by the refuge are major selection criteria.
