Biological Technician Intern
Wanted: 6 month biological technician intern at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.

We are accepting applications to work as a biological technician intern at Alligator River and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuges. Candidates must be at least a junior in college (college graduates and grad students also accepted!) and be able to work both independently and as a team player. For this internship we typically look for someone with an academic/experience background in wildlife management, wildlife biology, or wildlife ecology. Duties may include, waterfowl and wildlife surveys, assisting with refuge wildlife/habitat surveys as need arises, water level management, vegetation sampling, data input, habitat type mapping, clerical work in the office, and general maintenance such as weed-eating, clearing trails, or other tasks relative to wildlife or habitat management. .
General refuge work such as staffing the Visitor Center, conducting interpretive programs, mowing, emptying trash cans, recycling, or distributing brochures will be assigned as Biological Program duties allow and will generally involve at least one day per week. Work ethic, attitude and willingness to help in whatever way is needed are major selection criteria.
