Get Involved

Although the Arctic Refuge is remote, there are a number of ways that you can become involved with the Refuge without traveling there:

50th Anniversary of the Refuge's Establishment:

The Refuge was established on December 6th 1960. Celebrate its anniversary throughout 2010 and 2011.

Updated Comprehensive Conservation Plan:

The Arctic Refuge created it's first Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) in 1988. We are now undertaking a multi-year process to update the CCP.

Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges:

Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the conservation of the natural resources of all the National Wildlife Refuges within Alaska.
