Hunting Information
Deer Hunting is allowed on the refuge only as scheduled. We have several black powder hunts, bow hunts, and one mobility impaired hunt each year. The schedule is printed in our annual hunt brochure.
Waterfowl Hunting is allowed during the state waterfowl hunting season, only in specific areas on the refuge and only during specific times as listed in the hunt brochure.

The annual Refuge Hunt Brochure also serves as the Refuge Hunt Permit. These are usually available in August. You may call us (843-889-3084) to find out where you can pick one up or to receive one by mail, send a self addressed, stamped envelope (one stamp per brochure requested) to: ACE Basin NWR, P.O. The Mobility Impaired hunt is open to folks who are permanently confined to a wheelchair or who permanently require the use of mobility aids to walk. Spaces are limited, so in order to attend the hunt, you must be selected in our random drawing.
For the 2013 Mobility Impaired Hunt, applications must be received no later than 4 PM, Friday, September 20, 2013. The drawing will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 and you will be notified in writing if you were selected.
