 Leslie Canyon NWR is closed to fishing.
 Leslie Canyon NWR is closed to hunting.
 San Bernardino and Leslie Canyon National Wildlife refuges are special places that help protect and preserve a diversity of fish and wildlife. At least 280 bird, 61 mammal, 40 reptile, 13 amphibian, and 8 fish species have been documented on the refuges, and 493 different kinds of plants, including 77 species of grass alone, have been identified on the refuges. While many of these species are abundant, some are quite rare, and a few of these species are found nowhere else within the United States. 
 While the majority of Leslie Canyon NWR is currently closed to public access in order to better protect and minimize disturbance of the fragile habitat and associated protected species, a portion of the refuge is open every day during daylight hours. In addition, Leslie Canyon Road traverses through the refuge and many of the birds and other wildlife can readily be seen as you drive through this scenic area.
