| Event Description: |
A joint production of the Louisiana Black Bear Conservation Commission, the town of Franklin, LA, and Southeast LA Refuges, this event is held in downtown Franklin. It kicks off Friday April 18 with live music downtown, and is followed on Saturday with vendors, exhibitors, and the "Beary Patch" educational area. The Beary Patch, organized by refuge staff, features 12-15 guest exhibitors sharing hands-on activities for all ages. A highlight is the Bear Maze, in which kids confront the habitat needs and hazards faced by the endangered LA black bear |
