Bird Counts

Waterfowl at DawnBird Counts are an important tool used at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge to help manage habitat for migratory birds. The counts done at Mingo focus primarily on waterfowl species and are conducted on a weekly basis during the migration period and through the winter when waterfowl utilize the refuge as a wintering area and stopover spot.
