Thomas Edward Tighe joined the staff of the Quinault NFH on February 27th, 2011. Tom is a proud Upper Peninsula of Michigan native (Yooper). He graduated from Escanaba Public School in 1987 and Northern Michigan University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (Ecology Emphasis). Immediately after graduating from high school, Tom served four years (1987-1991) in the United States Army as both a Tank Turret Repairman and a M1-A1 Abrams Tank crew member. Tom completed his Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland and served the remainder of his military time in Fulda, Germany with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Black Horse).
Prior to Tom beginning his employment with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he had worked for four years with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (Thompson State Fish Hatchery) and eleven years with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (Henry’s Lake, Niagara Springs, Clearwater, Hagerman and Magic Valley Hatcheries).Tom and his wife Carol were married in 1996. Together they have three children (Casey, Brady and Thomas).
