Coho salmon  fishermen at Cook CreekThe Quinault Indian Nation works cooperatively with the hatchery to provide salmon and steelhead for a subsistence fishery. Commercial tribal fishermen set their nets in the Quinault River during the fall and winter months while tribal sportfish guides entertain clients on both Cook Creek and the Quinault River. Non-tribal members must be accompanied by a guide when fishing reservation waters.
