Friends
of Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which helps fund education, interpretation,
and outreach programs at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. The Friends
group is dedicated to:
- Promoting public awareness
and appreciation of the natural and cultural history of the Puget Sound
area, the Nisqually River Watershed and Delta.
- The conservation and preservation
of Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge and maintenance of its essential
wildlife habitats.
- Organizing and providing
for the public a variety of natural history talks, seminars, and publications
to enhance understanding and appreciation of the Puget Sound area and
its fish and wildlife resources.
How Friends of Nisqually
NWR Helps
The Friends group provides funding for Nisqually NWR's:
Friends of Nisqually NWR serves
visitors to the Refuge by selling educational books and materials at the
Refuge Visitor Center.
Through outside grants, Friends
of Nisqually NWR supplements the funding of a variety of programs at the
Refuge.
Friends Group Membership
Membership in Friends of Nisqually NWR allows you to help with public
education about important wildlife and habitat issues of Puget Sound and
Nisqually National WIldlife Refuge. In addition, you receive:
- A 10 percent discount at
the Nature Shop in the Visitor Center.
- A chance to become a participant
in Refuge activities and make a practical contribution to the operation
of Nisqually NWR.
- A tax deduction for membership
and contributions as permitted by law.
