Our mission in Nevada is to conserve the natural biological diversity of the Great Basin, Eastern Sierra, and Mojave Desert ecosystems. We currently have 39 Threatened or Endangered Species in Nevada-- 2 birds, 1 reptile, 25 fish, 2 invertebrates, 9 plants, and an additional 9 Candidate Species.

Program areas for the Nevada Fish and Wildlife Office include Desert Tortoise Recovery, Ecological Services, Fisheries, Environmental Contaminants, and the Partners for Fish and Wildlife.  We work with many partners to recover and conserve Nevada species and are actively involved in state water issues that directly affect endangered species and wetland resources.

Our 60-plus employees are located in three offices to serve you — the Nevada Fish & Wildlife Office in Reno, The Southern Nevada Field Office in Las Vegas, and the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex in Gardnerville.
