Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge has two work camper volunter camp sites. Each site has electric, water, and sewar hookups. Work campers have a laundry facility provided with extra storage and freezer space available. Work campers generally volunteer at the refuge from March through November. The primary purpose of the work camper program is to keep the Visitor Center open on evening and weekends. Work campers also help out with refuge events such as First Fridays. If interested work campers can also help out with other activites on the refuge such as maintenance, wildlife surveys, etc.

Work camper applications are taken on a continous bases. If your interested in becomeing a work camper at Swan Lake you can email us or call us at (660) 856-3323. Work camper positions for 2011 are filled.
