Individual Volunteers
Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge is very dependant upon volunteers to accomplish its mission. Volunteers are an important component of the National Wildlife Refuge System and provide thousands of hours of support to meet refuge goals and objectives. Volunteers provide labor to accomplish task on refuges that would not otherwise be accomplished by refuge staff because of limited staffing. Refuge vollunteers provide different perspectives towards refuge management and help to build connections wiht the public we are here to serve. By volunteering on Refuges it enhances a persons ability to learn more about conservation.
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service is an agency of the Department of the Interior. Its mission is working with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
