Refuge Managed Deer Hunts

Deer Hunting

Deer hunting on the refuge is permitted during one of the primitive weapons hunt. The primary goal of this hunt is to keep an already abundant white-tailed deer population in check.

The refuge conducts three managed deer hunts each year in partnership with Missouri Department of Conservation. Click here to apply for managed deer hunts through the Missouri Department of Conservation July 1 - August 15.

Disabled Hunters Deer Hunt Novermber 5-6, 2011.

Primitive Firearms-Limit one deer of either sex.

Youth Deer Hunt December 3-4, 2011.

Primitive Firearms-Limit one deer of either sex.

Managed Public Deer Hunt December 10-11, 2011.

Primitive Firearms-Limit one antered deer with 4 point restriction.

If selected thorugh the Missouri Department of Conservation managed hunt draw system hunters must obtain all state hunting license prior to attending the pre-hunt orientation. All hunters will be required to attend a pre-hunt orientation.
