Recreation Visitors enjoy many activities at Horicon refuge including hiking, bicycling, hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, photography and educational programs and there are many facilities available at Horicon refuge to make your visit more enjoyable.
For your own safety and the safety of wildlife, please remember that while visiting the refuge you and your dog should remain on the trails at all time, your dog must remain leashed and you must pick up after your dog. Also remember that the posted speed limit on State Highway 49 is 55 mph and the refuge is open during daylight hours only. Education Environmental education programs for pre-school through post-secondary students include on-site field trips and off-site classroom presentations. Additional resources include educational trunks and materials for loan. Educational programs are also available for organized groups, including on-site step-on bus tours and on-site and off-site presentations pertaining to refuge wildlife, recreation or management. Reservations and appointments are required. Reservations may only be made for the current calendar year and are first-come, first served so schedule early.
