Protecting
Maine's Wetlands: Linking Maine's Past with
its Future (PDF 816 KB)
This four-page article was published in the Nov-Dec. 2007 issue of
National Wetlands Newsletter, the publication of the Environmental Law
Institute. The entire issue was dedicated to landscape-scale partnership
work of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Coastal Program, and the article
on the work of the Maine Wetlands Protection Coalition was one of five
included in the newsletter. Written by Gulf of Maine Coastal Program
staff who have actively participated in the Coalition, the article describes
concerns with wetland loss and habitat development in Maine, explains
the functions of the Maine Wetland Protection Coalition, and describes
our 18 years of accomplishments in permanently protecting high value
wetlands. |
