Print Friendly Version

Over 100 children and their families participated in fun, hands-on activities and environmental education programs during the 14th Annual Buffalo River Fest. The event was sponsored by the Valley Community Association to highlight all of the natural and historic aspects of the Buffalo River found in the waterfront industrial area of the City of Buffalo. Biologists from the Lower Great Lakes FWCO educated children and their families about recreational fishing, Great Lakes ecology and native fishes, and the importance of healthy habitat for fish and humans to promote stewardship for the environment. The event filled day began with hundreds of water enthusiasts participating in the Buffalo River Regatta sponsored by Rigidized Metals Corporation.
