We are happy to announce that the City of Saginaw will receive funding to rehabilitate Gabriel Road which leads directly to the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge's Green Point Environmental Learning Center. This road is severely pot-holed and it is very muddy during wet periods. These conditions often create access issues and deter Green Point visitors. The Gabriel Road improvement project will recondition and pave the driving surface and resolve drainage issues in the low-lying areas along the route.

Funding for this project comes from the Federal Highway Administration's Public Lands Highway Discretionary Program and from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Midwest Region Transportation Program.
