On a beautiful Friday in September, volunteers from the Secaucus office of the firm of Ernst and Young and volunteers from the Friends of Great Swamp worked in concert with refuge staff to spruce up the Nature Detective Trail at the Helen C. Fenske Visitor Center. New wood chips were spread, weeds pulled and general clean up activities were conducted. In addition Ernst and Young volunteers learned about the purpose of the refuge and the mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. A BBQ lunch was provided by the Friends of Great Swamp and all had a good time.
