On the evening of June 8, 2013, two hundred volunteers were recognized for their hard work and hours of volunteer service at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge’s annual volunteer dinner. This year we celebrated over 14,000 hours being donated to the refuge which is equivalent to 7 full time staff. During these times with limited budgets we rely even more on our great volunteers that give so much to the refuge. The volunteers at Great Swamp NWR are individuals who unselfishly give back to their communities and are passionate about the refuge. During the recognition program, volunteers were honored with a visit from Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen who attended the event and personally thanked all the volunteers for their efforts.
Through the hard work of the volunteers of Great Swamp NWR they have made the refuge a vibrant source of pride.
