The Cache River Wetlands holiday open house was a mouth-watering success, as usual! More than 200 friends, family  and outdoor enthusiasts joined Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge, Friends of the Cache River Watershed and The Nature Conservancy at the refuge office on December 6, 2012 in Ullin, Ill.

This annual open house provided an opportunity for refuge staff to meet community members, visitors and volunteers while taking part in the usual sumptuous holiday feast, which consisted of everything from venison stew to turkey gumbo and a picturesque array of desserts. Refuge staff appreciated all of the folks who came out to visit and share their interest in the Cache River Wetlands, and look foward next year's gathering.
