Print Friendly Version

Project Leader Tracy Hill, Assistant Project Leader Wyatt Doyle and Fish Biologist Jeff Finley all traveled to Neosho, Missouri to assist the Neosho National Fish Hatchery and Sugar Creek Gobblers a chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation with their inaugural Rainbows for Veterans Fishing Derby. All veterans and their immediate families were welcomed to attend the free event which included fishing, food and a tribute to the Americans who have served in the United States military. Participates were allowed a limit of four rainbow trout that were cleaned on site and packaged on ice for transport back home. Approximately 300 people participated in the event. This event provided the US Fish and Wildlife Service with a great opportunity to celebrate with veterans and thank them for their service to the country.
