The Missouri Department of Conservation constructed a new hatchery building, and is completing raceway renovations at Bennett Spring Fish Hatchery in LaClede County, Missouri, with the support of Sport Fish Restoration funding.
The new hatchery building has the space, rearing equipment and water supply needed to meet the hatchery's current egg production and early life stage rearing needs, and it will be able to accommodate a 60% increase in the number of small fingerlings ready for distribution at Bennett Springs Fish Hatchery or the Department's other cold water fish hatcheries.
Raceway renovations include paved concrete bottoms, new raceway cleaning and drainage system, repair of leaking raceway walls, construction of a new outlet flume, and concrete paving of service roads. Raceway renovations and improvements will facilitate improved drainage for water management and fish waste management, improve fish health and production, and improved efficiency and safety for hatchery workers.

Bennett Spring Total Renovation Costs
Federal - $2,745,062.50 State - $915,020.83 Total - $3,660,083.33
