The CA-NV Fish Health Center provides a health and smolt physiology screening for fish used in the multiagency VAMP migration and survival studies. This ensures that survival differences are due to river conditions and migration route rather than preexisting health problems. These Chinook salmon and steelhead are acoustic tagged and tracked as they move though the San Joaquin River and Delta.
