Print Friendly Version
Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge is selected to be a "Focus Refuge" in the Southwest for calendar year 2002. A Focus Refuge is one that will play a central role in Region 2's celebration of the National Wildlife Refuge System's Centennial which will culminate on March 14, 2003.

Tishomingo NWR was chosen for its ability to create community partnerships and to garner support for the refuge and the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Together with the city of Tishomingo and Johnston County, the Tishomingo NWR will host Centennial events such as a community festival, environmental education activities, birding tours, etc.
