AESO staffers, Carrie Marr and Cathy Gordon, introduced wild animals to preschoolers in metropolitan Phoenix, on February 9-10, 2011.  During the two day event they performed eight outdoor education presentations.  They used an American kestrel, a prairie dog, and a striped skunk from the Arizona Game and Fish Department's Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center.  They discussed concepts such as being nocturnal, social interactions between prairie dogs, predation, hibernation, defense mechanisms, and foraging strategies.  They provided this environmental education opportunity to approximately 165 preschoolers.
