Brian Wooldridge of the Arizona Ecological Services Flagstaff Suboffice accompanied his daughter's class on a field trip on the San Francisco Peaks.  He talked to the class about wildlife, general ecology, and fire ecology.  He pointed out widlife tracks and used the surrounding habitat to explain the role of fire in ecosystems and how all parts of the ecosystems are connected and dependent on fire.  He hiked with the kids about two miles and spent about an hour talking to the group of first through third grade Montessori School students.  The kids, teachers, and other parent helpers were very excited about the role of fire in natural ecosystems and appreciative of Brian's time and willingness to help.
