Midwest Region, April 21, 2010
Print Friendly Version

Project Leader Tracy Hill traveled to Jackson, Mississippi ,on March 15 to attend the Gulf Coast Plain and Ozarks Strategic Habitat Conservation Workshop.

The purpose of the workshop was to inform and engage Project Leaders within the Service regarding continuing efforts to advance Strategic Habitat Conservation and promote development of Landscape Conservation Cooperatives as the principal framework and strategy for organizing and undertaking conservation efforts in support of the Service mission.

The workshop provided an ideal atmosphere for promoting understanding and discussion regarding strategic habitat conservation and its implications to the Service.  It also allowed Service leaders an opportunity to more fully consider the challenges associated with landscape conservation cooperatives and to consider the next steps for advancing their development in the identified geographic area.
