Columbia FWCO attends 70th Annual Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference
Midwest Region, December 7, 2009
Print Friendly Version

This month Columbia FWCO Fish Biologist, Brian Elkington and STEP student Jonathon Spurgeon presented at the 70th Annual Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference in Springfield, Illinois.  The annual meeting was a great opportunity for resource managers and researchers from around the region to learn about each other’s projects and share information.

This year’s meeting included a series of social events as well as days of talks and poster presentations.  Included in the many posters hung two from Columbia FWCO.  Both posters, titled “Impact of mean annual discharge on early life history survival of Scaphirhynchus sturgeon in Lower Missouri River” and “Paddlefish Fishing and Management in the U.S.” were well received by our peers and elicited positive feedback.  We both also enjoyed listening to presentations relating to sturgeon, paddlefish, adaptive management and many other topics through the course of the meeting.
