Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge partnered with the Chickasaw Nation on November 10 in celebration of Native American Heritage Month.  The "Youthful Celebration" was attended by 375 fifth through eighth grade students from across the state of Oklahoma.  The event was one of the largest celebrations scheduled in the State of Oklahoma and focused on cultural demonstrations which included stick ball, archery, blow gun, Chickasaw language, storyteller, Dance Troupe, fire prevention, and the Lighthorse Police.  The Chickasaw Nation also provided a free hotdog lunch to all attendees.
