Alaska Region, April 2, 2009
Print Friendly Version

In early April 2009, Refuge Law Enforcement Officer Jerry Floyd and Alaska State Trooper Mike Potter conducted a hunter education class for 10 students from the Galena Interior Learning Academy (GILA). Approximately 4 hours where spent in the classroom covering topics such as firearm safety, safe gun handling techniques, resource management and state hunting rules and regulations.  This was followed up with an additional 4 hours field exercise and a live fire shooting activity.

Nine of the ten students passed all portions of the class and received their Alaska hunter education cards.
