Riparian-wetland livestock grazing workshop in Springerville, AZ

The BLM National Riparian Service team sponsored a "Grazing management processes and strategies for riparian and wetland areas" workshop in Springerville, Arizona on June 3 to 5, 2008.  Fish and Wildlife Service wildlife biologist Dave Smith was one of the instructors.  He discussed riparian assessments and held an open discussion on section 7 consultation as part of the classroom exercises.  He also assisted in the field during riparian assesment and management exercises.  The class was attended by 75 government resource specialists and local ranchers.
