Print Friendly Version

Corpus Christi ES staff liaison to the Kemps’ Ridley Sea Turtle Recovery Team coordinated with land managers from along the entire Texas coastline on status of nesting Kemp’s ridley sea turtles.  The 2007 nesting season was reviewed and data and logistical needs were projected for 2008.  The 128 nests in 2007 are expected to increase to over 200 in 2008.  This meeting at Padre Island National Seashore followed the October 29, Bi-National Kemp’s Ridley Seaturtle Working Group Meeting.
