Southwest Region, September 24, 2007
Print Friendly Version
Two delegates from the Heifer International group of China visited the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge on September 24.  The representatives came to learn of the research and management practices of the extensive grasslands on the refuge.  USDA Forest Service researcher Paulette Ford met the group and explained the importance of experiments that show how the habitats are altered with changing climatic conditions.  Rainfall manipulation, nocturnal warming, and automated weather stations were explained along with the general ecological forces influencing the area.
