Columbia, Missouri Ecological Services Field Office Biologist Teaches Sedge (Cyperaceae) Identification Workshop

On August 4 and 5, Columbia, Missouri Ecological Services Field Office (CMFO) biologist Dr. Paul McKenzie teamed up with Dr. George Yatskievych of the Missouri Botanical Garden to teach a sedge (Cyperaceae) identification workshop at Meramec Community College in St. Louis, Missouri. 

The class was part of the college‚Äôs summer adult education program.  The class was attended by 20 participants and included individuals from State and Federal agencies as well as the private sector. 

The class included class room instruction, keying exercises, and field identification.  All participants enjoyed the class and several provided positive comments on the organization and thoroughness of the workshop.
