Print Friendly Version
In May, 2007, Ducks Unlimited and Laguna Atascosa NWR signed an agreement for work to be conducted at the Resca de los Cuates to restore 280 acres of wetland.  Management will be aimed at creating mudflats, shallow emergent vegetation, and moist soil wetland habitat.  Ducks Unlimited will be responsible for: purchase of nine flashboard risers, clearing of an existing man-made ditch (approximately 1500 ft) and purchase of a 12” portable relift pump which will be used to provide water to the project site.  Laguna Atascosa NWR will be responsible for installation of the flashboard risers and the water management regime for the unit.
