Army Corps of Engineers Hosts Public Meeting at Arrow Rock
Midwest Region, May 7, 2007
Print Friendly Version

Project Leader Tracy Hill and Fish Biologist Jeff Finley attended a public meeting hosted by the Army Corps of Engineers to address concerns by local citizens about construction on Jameson Chute.

Local landowners were concerned because dirt which was being removed to create the chute was being placed back in the river at the construction site.

Corp officials held the meeting to address local concerns and to educate those interested in the Jameson Chute project.  Columbia FRO is assisting the Corps with fisheries monitoring of chutes created in the Missouri River and were present at the meeting to address questions related to the benefits that the Jameson Chute project has for native Missouri River fishes.

Ecological Services personnel were in attendance as well as state and local representatives from a number of interests groups.
