10 Region, April 27, 2007
Print Friendly Version

At the request of the Federal Duck Stamp Office, Rachel Levin, an outreach specialist in Region 3 External Affairs, assisted with the National Junior Duck Stamp Contest, held April 27 at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

Levin created media kits on CD and coordinated with the zoo's public affairs staff and FWS Washington Office public affairs staff on media relations.  She also served as host to last year's Junior Duck Stamp winner, Rebekah Nastav of Amoret, Mo., and the 2006 Federal Duck Stamp contest winner, Richard Clifton of Milford, Del., and coordinated appearances for Nastav and Clifton at educational activities at the zoo.

Levin had the honor of getting the 2007 national Junior Duck Stamp contest winner, Paul Willey of Conway, Ark., on the phone so that he could be congratulated by Deputy Assistant Interior Secretary David Verhey.

The second place winner was Madeline Yohn of Pennsylvania, and a Region 3 artist, Paige Brevick of Chatfield, Minn., took third place.
